A fellow of the American Institute of Architects, Robert Mack has a B.A. and
B.Arch. from the University of Minnesota and an MS with distinction in
Building Conservation from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. He
is a founding principal with MacDonald and Mack Architects, Ltd., a firm
that specializes in preservation projects on a nationwide basis. Mack also
has published numerous articles on the technology of preservation,
especially masonry preservation. He recently completed a year-long
leave-of-absence in Orkney, Scotland, where he conducted research into the
construction and preservation of traditional stone farmhouses. He teaches
courses in the areas of practice and technology.
